     The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation (HKSR)

Lifetime Service Award (2022)

Mr. Thomas (Tom) E. Rickert
Tom Rickert, the Former Executive Director of Access Exchange International (AEI), a non-profit agency in San Francisco, California, USA was conferred with Lifetime Service Award for his exceptional work focused on promoting accessible public transport for persons with disabilities and seniors in low-income regions around the world.  Prior to founding AEI, Tom was Manager of Accessible Services for the San Francisco Municipal Railway. He has been a long-time researcher, author, contributor, and colleague with a focus on school transportation in developing countries.  Tom has also been a recipient of the William G Bell Award in 2003.

Exceptional Service Award (2022)

Dr. Christopher (Kit) GB Mitchell
Dr. Kit Mitchell was awarded for his contributions to TRANSED-DRT 2022 and all the previous TRANSED Conferences and his unrelenting attention to detail and organization;  Passion and commitment to our mission and work and last but not the least his focus on people and excellence!
With a passion for addressing access issues for people with disabilities and advising on Disability Rights, Dr. Mitchell has also been a recipient of the William G Bell Award in 2001.
