MIDYEAR UPDATE August 2014
TRANSED is scheduled for July 28-31, 2015 in Lisbon Portugal
Plan to be an active participant. The TRANSED conferences are a very important part of our committee’s mission. We urge members and friends to be active participants. Abstracts for papers and presentations will be accepted until September 15, 2014. The theme of TRANSED 2015 is “Aim and Manage for Inclusive Access.”
Register early. Early registrations provide the host with important resources for the up-front work that is required to ensure a quality event.
Help to market the conference. Pass along information about the conference to others who you think would be interested. If your organization has a website, consider posting information about the conference and a link to the conference website.
Consider being a sponsor. If you can, consider becoming a sponsor. For more information on sponsorship opportunities, contact the Conference Secretariat using the address listed on the Contacts page of the website.
The International Activities Subcommittee and TRANSED Planning Subcommittee are working on developing the program for TRANSED 2015. See the announcement above.
The Research Subcommittee has submitted several full problem statements and synthesis research statements. Thank you to committee members for your efforts. One previous submittal was selected, and the project was recently completed by committee members Kate Hunter-Zaworski and Uwe Rutenberg. The research was published in August 2014 as TCRP Report 171, Use of Mobility Devices on Paratransit Vehicles and Buses.
The Technology Subcommittee has no midyear updates to report.
